About New Sincerity
New Sincerity was founded in 2016 by Michael Rolph — AI executive coach, certified diversity trainer, and organizational leader with 25 years across Silicon Valley, the U.S. Department of State, and nonprofit leadership. What began as a media project celebrating American culture and identity evolved into a consultancy focused on inclusive leadership and organizational performance. Michael Rolph's current practice, including AI executive coaching and C-suite leadership development, operates at michaelrolph.com. New Sincerity continues as the organizational culture arm of his work — grounded in the principle that high-performing cultures are built through leadership behavior, not compliance initiatives.
The story of New Sincerity is a story about what we learn when we pay close attention to people.
In 2016, Michael Rolph launched New Sincerity as a digital magazine with a specific ambition: to document the stories of remarkable Americans whose contributions weren't making it into the mainstream narrative. Scientists, artists, activists, educators, and community builders from every background and region — told with depth and elevated as the model of American ingenuity they represented.
Those stories earned accolades and built a larger and beautifully diverse coalition of readers. More importantly, they surfaced something that shaped everything that came after: the organizations where people do their best work are not the ones with the most sophisticated programs. They're the ones where people genuinely experience their identity as an asset rather than something to manage — and where leaders build that experience through how they consistently operate.
New Sincerity became a consulting and coaching practice because that's where the work is. Not in annual reports. In the daily leadership decisions that either build trust and candor, or quietly undermine them.
Michael Rolph: Founder of New Sincerity
Michael brings 25 years across Silicon Valley technology leadership, the U.S. Department of State, and organizational consulting — with graduate training in counseling psychology and cross-cultural communication. He holds a Diversity Trainer Certification from the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity and a Social Sector Leadership certificate from UC Berkeley Haas.
His work spans organizational culture, inclusive leadership, and executive development. His current individual coaching practice — focused on AI transformation, senior leadership development, and the human-systems challenges of AI adoption — is available at michaelrolph.com.
Today New Sincerity continues the organizational work: building the leadership climates and inclusive cultures where high performance and belonging reinforce each other. Not as a program. As a practice.
Expect rigor, honesty, and genuine investment in the work.
